Football season!!…

In our house, it’s the single most exciting part of going back to school.  Friday night lights are a big part of our week, but Saturday in Athens…..that’s a whole different story!  Whether we are up early packing the truck and getting in front of traffic, or ordering our day around the game on t.v., you can be sure our DAWGS are the focus of our Saturdays in the fall.

Happily, Cabell, Mike, Todd and I all went to UGA.  Just one more thing we get to share in this world:  a love for our DAWGS. (and a belief that a NCAA Championship will actually come our way sooner than later.)

That’s why Cabell and I have so enjoyed creating the Not Just For Tailgating Line.  Each piece represents the memories we cherish of days cheering on our beloved team.  We know you love it too, even if your allegiances take you to other college towns.  (GO DAWGS!)

Not everyone can be a Bulldog, so for all you college sports fans who cheer for a different team…we just want to say, we know the feeling.  Keep supporting your alma mater and we hope some Cabell’s pieces make it into your car on Saturdays or onto your table at home.

Follow us on Instagram this fall at CabellsDesigns3 and you will hear about some easy ways to win your own piece of Tailgating Fun, compliments of your most faithful Bulldog friends.  If you are a lucky winner, we promise to send you our giveaway in the team of your choice.   (if we make it that is.)

Happy Cheering!  And just for kicks, here’s one of my favorite tailgating recipes.  This crowd pleaser is a love…it tastes yummy with tortilla chips, you can make it the night before, and it stands up well in the heat.  Enjoy!

Recipe for Black Bean and Corn Salsa:

2 cans whole kernel corn ( I like the white shoe peg corn) rinsed and drained

2 cans black beans rinsed and drained

8 plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped

1 medium red onion

¾ C minced fresh cilantro

4 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped (optional of course)

¼ C lime juice

½ teaspoon salt

Mix all together and refrigerate until you are ready to eat!  Don’t forget the tortilla chips for dipping
