9 Bale Street is a greater gift than we could've asked for or imagined. After sharing a space at Swift and Finch for years (Ellie, thank you isn't big enough); we found ourselves with an opportunity to grow. We searched for a new place, signed a lease and then moved… HOME... because that was exactly when Covid quarantine hit. Once the stay at home order was lifted we cautiously set about making our vision a reality. Although the commitment of years of rent and a studio that needed major renovations was financially terrifying, a new space filled with possibilities flooded us with creative energy and hope. From crafting a 25 ft wall of bookcases, to building planters, to planting flowerbeds, to painting a stone “carpet” at the front door,  to installing handmade light fixtures, to painting and laying tile, to stripping doors, to building work tables to… You get the picture.

It was unreal to have the blank canvas and a landlord (Brian DUlaney)  who is a champion of the arts and artists. Can you believe he said, “Sure, glue ceramic flowers to the exterior of my building; put peacocks on the wall, go for it!”?  Thank you Brian.

This has been a sweaty labor of love for us AND for almost every single one of our friends who rolled up their sleeves and joined in as if this was their dream too. We are grateful.

Dreams are coming true @ 9 Bale Street!

Now for some Before/During &Afters. I love this kind of stuff!
